Private one-on-one sessions are the perfect opportunity to address specific areas of concern that you would like to work with. It may be recovery from injury, managing your moods, addressing physical imbalances. Perhaps you would like to focus on a specific area of yoga practices, or a more intense session to take you further in your practice.
With busy lives, people may find that they are unable to attend the regularly scheduled times and one-on-one sessions are an opportunity to work with a teacher at a time more suited to you.
As a form of therapy, yoga offers a wholistic approach to physical and mental well-being that treats acute or chronic ailments, injuries or misalignments by bringing the whole body into symmetry and balance through yoga.
The techniques are adapted to meet the needs and capabilities of the student in personalized one-on-one programs designed specifically for each person in their situation. We take photographs for home practice.
Yoga recognises that the body and mind are interconnected through the agency of the breath and that there is a direct connection between mental and physical states and the condition of the breath. Long slow, steady yoga breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system which creates a feeling of peace and calm (Relaxation Response) and allows the body to heal quickly.
The goal of yoga as therapy is for the student to take control of his or her health, not only to alleviate short term discomfort, but to stay healthy in the long run.

When to arrive?
We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes before your appointed time. This will allow you sufficient time to change your clothing, go to the toilet and complete your health questionnaire.
What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?
Out of consideration for all our students, a minimum of 12 hours notice is required to cancel or reschedule. Cancellation or time change within this time will result in a 50% fee being charged. ‘No Show’ appointments are charged at full price.
What to wear?
Wear shorts or tights and a close fitting tee shirt or singlet. Loose or baggy clothing interferes with your movements; it is important for you and your teacher to see your body. Jewellery & valuables should not be brought to the class.
Please arrive showered and unscented, that is, no perfumes or deodorants.
Empty stomach
It is advisable not to eat for a minimum of 2 hours before attending so you do not suffer discomfort from the yoga postures.
What to bring?
Please bring a camera as your teacher will take photos of the individual postures and breathing exercises designed for you. These photos provide the basis of your on-going home practice and thus speed up your healing.
What if I am late for my appointment?
Arriving late will unfortunately limit the time allocated for your session; it will lessen the effectiveness and input from your teacher. As a courtesy to all our students all sessions are completed as scheduled.
Keep a Yoga Journal
On the days you practice your new yoga program write down how long you practiced, a brief description of what you did, and how you felt as a result. On the days you don’t practice, write down why and how you felt? A journal can provide you with useful information and is, in itself a tool for mindfulness and self-study.
